Are you someone who knows how to protect others? Do you like patrolling stores and businesses? If you answered yes, then you would probably like a job as a security officer. Some companies will hire you without any formal education as a security officer. However, most places want you to have an education in criminal justice or a law enforcement degree.

One of the places you can work is a library. It is a very simple place to work as a security officer. All you have to do is sit at a desk and make sure that patrons are not taking any books or causing trouble. You will need to walk around the library to make sure that no one is causing trouble. If there is anyone being loud or disorderly, you might have to escort them outside.

Another place you can work as a security officer is a hospital. You will probably work in different areas of the hospital to protect the safety of the patients and visitors. The emergency department is probably the area where you will spend most of your time. People who enter the emergency department need to have their belongings checked before they enter the rooms to make sure they do not have any knives or weapons.

Schools need security officers to monitor the activities of the students. There is usually a small building for the officer to sit in during the day. The officer usually walks around the school to make sure the students are behaving properly. If there are any fights at the school, you will need to break them up. Police officers can be called if any fights get out of control. As a security officer, you might have to investigate lockers and book bags for drugs. If drugs are found, the items will need to be confiscated. Working in a school means that you are around students who may need help at some point. As a security officer, it is your responsibility to protect the students at the school in any way possible.
