Take a look at some of the costumes you are interested in. You can either go online or into a Halloween costume store to see what you like. Gypsies can wear long flowing gowns, vampires can wear button down white shirts and there are many other characters, too. Now take a look in your closet. An old dress shirt and slacks or a nice skirt can help you out tremendously.

Props go a long way to helping you pull off the look of your costumes Halloween. If you are a witch, then you need a broom. If you are a magician, you need a wand. Otherwise, a scary (or funny) voice and the right saunter can help a lot. You may have some of these props at your house that you can use or you can visit the Halloween store to get what you need.

Makeup is your best friend. When you want to get a scary look, a beautiful look or anything in between, you can make it with makeup instead of buying a mask. Any store has makeup kits around Halloween that will give you all of the colors you need. Vampires need pale skin, witches have green skin, monsters can have any color skin which means you can be very creative as you apply the makeup.

As you get ready in the evening on Halloween, you can start to create your entire character. Wear some of your own clothes and then just buy a few things that you need. If you have a beautiful dress, a tiara makes you a princess (or a suit and crown can make you a prince). Money problems don't matter at Halloween as long as you are creative.
