Before purchasing a memory foam queen sized mattress, you must determine the firmness level or Indent Load Factor (ILD) that will provide the comfort and support that you desire. The ILD measurement determines how firm or soft the foam will be with a count of ten to fourteen being the average. The higher the density of the foam, the more durability and firmness it will provide. Ensure that the mattress also provides sufficient back support. The best way to determine what level of ILD and back support suits your needs is to test the mattress in the store before purchase.

I think this question is down to personal experiences, however, I have a memory foam mattress on an electrical adjustable bed and I have never had such good sleep since I bought this bed. I have Scoliosis and had surgery in 1989 to correct this so sleeping was an issue for me before I got this bed, because I have spinal instruments in my spine that cause pain due to them trying to get out! (feels that way anyway). With a normal conventional mattress my rods and the mattress would fight against each other. Since I got my memory foam mattress and new bed, this has not been an issue for me and I can now sleep well. I would also encourage you try before you buy, what might be right for me, might not be right for you, however, I think if you laid on my bed, you might agree it is a dream.

For starters make sure that the memory foam unit is not sitting on a slippery fabric like a mattress protector. You could try using some Velcro pieces between to see it that might help. It's going to need support under the free edges. If getting a queen sized frame is not an option for you right now, you can try stacking milk crates, books, or something else pretty solid. You might also want to consider taking the mattress off of the frame and putting it directly on the floor. The pressure of your body pressing down and bending the sides down when you get up and down (which is the cause of it sliding off) will eventually tear up your memory foam. It will last longer on a flat surface, like the floor, than it will on a too small box spring or frame.
