A pharmaceutical rep usually needs training in the products of the company and in sales in general; however, it is much better if you come to the pharmaceutical company with sales training in advance. Top pharmaceutical reps can earn up to $250,000 a year, all on commission. The minimum salary for beginning pharmaceutical reps is somewhere in the neighborhood of $20-$25,000.
