To find the right airport careers for you, you need to start by looking at all of your options and comparing those to the skills that you possess. Now, some things are just naturally going to be outside of the realm of what you can accomplish. If you have not been trained as a pilot, you cannot fly the planes. If you have not been trained as an emergency response specialist, you cannot drive the fire trucks or ambulances that are always on duty at the airpot. However, there are many things that you can do.

To begin with, you can work as a representative for the airline, working behind the front desk. These desks are the first thing that you will see as you walk into most airports. If you work at them, you will be responsible for validating tickets, checking luggage, looking up customer information, and many other things of this sort. The hardest part of the job will probably be dealing with people who are unhappy because their flights have been cancelled or their luggage has been lost. You will need good people skills for these times.

You could also consider airport careers in the security business. Security in airports has only increased in the last decade, and a large amount of officers are needed to make sure that passengers are safe. You do need to have the right training to do this, however, so you need to take that into account. It is not as hard to get the training to be a guard as it would be to be certified to be a pilot, but it may hold about the same degree of difficulty as training to be an emergency response official.

The easiest of all of the airport careers to break into without any training or experience is in the custodial field. Thousands of people come through most airports every day. They leave dirt and trash behind. People are needed to clean the airports periodically so that they are in great condition. This may not be the most desirable career, but you can be sure that there will be a demand for workers.
