Even for the most simple of businesses, in the growth stage, if not in its infancy, a business plan should be written. Why?

Everyone can always use other people's money to build a business, but to qualify yourself for angel investors or venture capital firms, you must have an airtight business plan.

Your business plan should focus on one thing, and one thing only: how investors will make their money back. Many people tend to try to cover this with lengthy diatribes about the spirit of the business, or completely untenable statistics that they think they can pull by investors.

Do not try to fool anyone. It is better to underestimate and overperform that to do the opposite.
