Normally yes.In Windows the chkdsk utility is built into the Windows platform and can be run from the command prompt.Use the Windows Search function and search for CMD (a utility program), this will allow you to open and run utilities under a DOS-type shell. Right click on the program, this will give you the option to "Run as Administrator", it will not work unless you do this.Run CMD as Administrator, this brings up a black DOS-type box with a > cursor in it.Type Chkdsk/?This will show you how to use the various parameter of the utility.Normally to fix disk errors you would type CHKDSK/F
