Additionally, on the job experience goes a long way towards getting hired in this field. System administrators are excellent problem solvers, have great attention to detail and posses good concentration for tasks.

Top earners in this profession make around $104,070, with the most money earned by those employed at enterprise level companies and the least at local elementary and high schools.
