Paradox
Paradox
A contradictory statement is one that contains two opposing ideas that cannot both be true simultaneously. For example, "The parade is happening right now, but it isn't taking place." This statement contradicts itself by asserting that the event is occurring while simultaneously claiming it is not.
A self-contradictory statement is called a paradox. It is a statement that contradicts itself or seems to defy logic.
The statement contradictory to: All people are curious is: Some people are not curious.
A statement that seems self-contradictory but in reality expresses a truth is called a paradox.
Contradictory is an adjective. It is used to describe a statement, belief, or action that is inconsistent or in conflict with another.
A seemingly contradictory statement is a statement that appears to be self-contradictory or logically inconsistent upon first examination, but may be interpreted differently upon closer analysis or with additional context. An example could be "less is more" which seems contradictory at first, but can make sense when considering minimalism or simplicity.
