Wal-Mart will cash most government checks as will some supermarkets. There are also many check cashing services but they charge a percentage of the check for their fee, sometimes hundreds of dollars, depending on the amount of the check. The fees at Walmart vary form state to state, but is usually only a few dollars.

No - not social security and not disability - they are totally exempt.
yes
I am not really sure what you are asking. If your social security is usually due on the third, then it will be in the bank on the third. Not sooner nor later.
The social security checks are programed in to be mailed before the third if the date falls on the weekend. Social Security checks are rarely or ever late. I would suggest that the check be direct mailed to a bank. It is safer that way.
To link your Social Security Number to your Bank of America account, you can visit a Bank of America branch with your Social Security card and a valid photo ID. An associate will assist you in updating your account information with your Social Security Number.
If the money is deposited into the account that has the overdraft, yes they can recover their monies.

To update your Social Security Number in your Bank of America account, you will need to visit a Bank of America branch in person and provide the necessary documentation to verify your identity and the new Social Security Number.
There could be several reasons why your disability check was not deposited today. It may be due to a processing delay at the Social Security Administration or your bank, a holiday or weekend affecting the deposit schedule, or an issue with your account information. It's best to check your bank statements and contact the Social Security office for specific information regarding your payment status.
Not without a judge or magistrate ruling in their favour.
I'm sure the law must be the same for ss in every state. No !!! your social security can not be garnished by anyone but the United States Government. Period. The creditor can get a judgment and put a hold on your acct in an attempt to garnish it. Stay calm and work with your bank. I had mine settled in a day. There is a form for you to check off informing the court that you truly do only have Social Security Deposits in the bank and no other income. If your bank is as good as mine they will walk you right through it. I am in the state of Oklahoma
