Best would be what your PC needs. The S-video option is a good choice but only if your PC needs that cable. A USB powered converter box is a good choice because of the multiple inputs and outputs (USB, VGA, and S-video), also compatibility for PAL and NTSC formats is something to be familiar with. That would be my choice.

This is not an answer but I want to know the same thing. My Sony Bravia has a PC input and a corresponding menu option, but this is separate from the RGB cable which has no menu option. I was having the same problem; I had plugged in the RGB cable to both my laptop and to the monitor, but when I changed my monitor input to "RGB" it said there was no signal. I found another site that said to restart your PC/laptop after plugging in the cable, and after restarting it worked for me. Hope that helps!

Your best shot is probably with either a usb 2 usb cable or 'crossover' ethernet cable.
if u want to remote access your home PC from your work PC the best way is that if the both are at same place then make a cross cable and then join the both PC with the help of it
