In 2006 the estimated median earnings for x-ray technicians averaged $48,170. The top ten percent earned $68,000 a year or more. The career outlook for x-ray technicians is very good. The demand for x-ray technicians is estimated to increase by 15 percent by the year 2016. The longer you are employed as an x-ray technician, the more your salary will increase.
