YOu can always call up the bank and give them all the information before you cash the money order. A money order is always set aside from the person to the bank so that the bank doesnt bounce the check. Nor does the person. Once it leaves the person it is upto the bank. A money order is always valid even if a bank goes belly up.

How do you see if a money order you sent has been cashed?

Hopefully you still have the stub? If you don't maybe you have the receipt. It is possible that the check # may be on that. Either way on the back of the check stub there will be a toll free # and instructions.

Can you check to see if a bank account is legitimate?

Yes you can call the bank that is printed on the check and they will let you know if the account is valid or not. I just recently received a check and I had to do some research myself.... I called AMSOUTH bank and a representative asked me the account number and she verified that ot was not valid. I knew from jump that I was being scammed!!! BEWARE!!!!

How will I know if the money has already receive by the receiver?

Never send cash, if sending a payment through the mail, send either a Money Order, Cashiers Check or a Personal/Company Check. Your best options are to have the letter sent registered mail and request a received receipt that the receiver must sign in order to receive the letter and payment. If you have a business, it is better to send a business check and send it registered. You can have a receipt for when the person receives the letter and once the check is cashed, your bank can show a canceled check. if payment is being made in person, GET A SIGNED RECEIPT. Do not allow them to SEND you a receipt in the mail, get it immediately with a signature showing that payment has been made and received. If you sent cash, then you have no way of knowing and must trust the honesty of the receiver. However, if you sent a money order, cashiers check, or personal check, those can be traced and signatures can be viewed to see if they were cashed and by whom.

How can you check to see if a money order from the USPS has been cashed?

USPS Money orders are normally not trackable to traceable, so to find out where a USPS money order is, or if it has been cashed, you need to take your original reciept and stub from the Money order to your local post office and fill out a Money Order Inquiry form, which has a $5.00 charge for processing (since they are normally not able to be tracked) - this process can take up to 2 months, but if the Money Order is found to be Lost and not cashed, the post office can do a reimbursement.
