If I am not mistaken you would need to contaact the IRS to get copies, being that employers must send in a red copy of all w2s to them. Yes, the whole point of W-2s and 1099 is the IRS receives the same info you do...albeit now except for the smallest of filers, they require it in an electronic format. Yes, you can probably get them from the IRS, but that will be an arduous task...requiring lots of requests, certified documentation you are who you are and such...and a fairly long time. Your best bet is to contact the employer, they normally have copies for a few years at least...they may charge you some nominal fee, but unlikely (especially if you ask nicely)...or whoever did your return may have a copy too.
I would contact the IRS. Supposedly the company you worked for was suppose to turn them in. They will send you copies

They should have been mailed to you by your employer. Contact them.
To get your W2 from the Dollar Tree for the year 2010 mailed to your home address you need to contact Dollar Tree. Employees needing copies of their W2 need to contact the Dollar Tree corporate office.
You can request all your W2s from the same employer for the past year directly from the employer's HR or payroll department.

W2S's second name is Lewis.
Yes they are required to copies of taxpayer records that they have filed in the past years.
To obtain two W2s from the same employer, you should contact the human resources or payroll department of the company. Request the additional W2s by providing your personal information, such as your name, social security number, and the tax year for which you need the forms. The employer should be able to provide you with the necessary copies for your tax filing purposes.

No... especially if they did not prepare them for you. If they prepared them for you, then they are only obligated to give you the original output. (Although it would be pretty jerky of them to not provide you copies for a fee, etc)
