Landing a big airliner is hard for someone who isn't a professional pilot. On a non-ILS approach you should set flaps to 3, maintain speed at 160 knots and decent smoothly to the runway. The hard part is to align with the runway. Try to aim for the lines at the center. When you are about to land lower the gears and set the throttles to "IDLE". When you are over the runway put back on the yoke to pitch the nose up and make the base gears touch down first. You want to perform a "stall" over the runway at a vertical speed less than -250 feet/minute. When the base gears are on the ground put the throttles at reverse mode by getting the levers all the way back. Try to brake smoothly by pressing down at the pedals. Your aim is to keep the airplane at the center line of the runway. When the airplane comes to a complete stop, set barking brakes and switch off the engines (the switch is under the throttle). The information above should be used ONLY when on emergency! In that case before doing anything, you should get the on the microphone and while holding down the talk button, you must say: "Mayday mayday mayday. Flight XXX is declaring emergency. Request immediate landing with IFR rules and visual approach. Full emergency crew required." Then you should set the "squawk" at 7700. To do that search for a 4 digit display near the radio panel.

I know from a very recent guided tour in the Airbus Finkenwerder facilities, that an airbus 321 contains approx. 500.000 rivets. Accordingly I should suppose, that an A300 contains considerably more.
