Weather affects us in a lot of ways. We buy our clothes so as to be suitable for the current weather. We unpack our winter clothes when the first cold fronts come through and leave our air chilly, and we break out the summer clothes when the warm sun beats down and the flowers bloom. We also purchase parkas and umbrellas for the rain storms, and mittens and tire chains for the snow. The weather can affect our mood. Many people love the hot sunny days and run to the beach with friends. Some people are put in good moods soley because of an overcast sky and a cool breeze. Children call for their moms or hide under the covers when lightening streaks the sky and thunder rumbles angrily. Weather can cause school or work to be cancelled- snow and flooding rain, or even sunshine in Seattle (it's a rarity). Terrible weather can flood our houses, or cause trees to fall, or damage our vehicles, resulting in insurance claims and necessary reparations. Clear, lovely nights can bring our hearts to soar when with a loved one, or even alone, admiring the work of our Creator. Weather can cancel events such as picnic planned during an unforeseen dust storm or heavy rains during a would-be firework show. Or unexpected good weather can cancel a student's studying plans for a game of frisbee or soccer on campus.
