The US air force just successfully tested a new plane that uses a new type of engine called a pulse detonation engine, that is supposed to fly at mach 6. Although the speed of sound varies by conditions, it is about 700 mph so mach 6 would be about 4200 mph. Speeds above mach 5 are called hypersonic. A pulse detonation engine is a pulse jet that creates about 1000 explosions per minute in a high preasure chamber as opposed to a steady normal burn of fuel. It creates a huge amount of power and is very fuel efficient but also creates extreme noise and vibration.
depends on the plane.
because planes are fast and they can go to place that boats, cars, ect. can not. and for quicker transportation
over 14 mph
no not at all they are very slow, slower than snails
Planes would only be in my employment future if I had to use them to travel for my job.
1 metre per hour
Some rocket planes can go as fast as six times the speed of sound. Most military fighter planes do not go faster than twice the speed of sound, and the typical civilian passenger/transport plane goes slower than the sound barrier.
88mph with timing only
planes are used for cargo shipping, passenger shipping, or just sight seeing.
About 300mph. They are not the fastest cars though - unlike with planes, jet cars are faster.
streamlining is important because with out it cars, planes and some boats would go to fast and out of control
yes
