he Nx-2ll or Spirit Of St.Louis, more or a less a customized Ryan Brougham built exdpressly for the Trans-Atlantic role, was, a one-man craft and was equipped with a periscope to view forward. The craft had ( I am guessing based on similar light plane) an economical cruise speed of about l20 MPH There are a number of books out specificaloy ont he4 Lindbergh flight and these do get into technicalities. One assumes you are referring to the Spirit Of St.Louis, Lindbergh, of course, flew various types of palnes in the Army Air Corps and as a civil pilot with the air mail. The craft is on display at the National Air and Space Museum so one can get a close-up view. O weome interest the return (flight) from France to the Us was made via a US Naval Cruiser, the craft having been presumably de-fueled and crated. the design rewquirements of the Ortieg contest only stipulated a one-way flight between New York and Paris, not a round tri! Contrary to some things llike the Gordon Bennett races, Neither the flgiht itself nor the contest was in any sense a newspaper stunt.Thogh certinaly covered by all the news media of the dcay incuding newly-developed newsreels.T
