HOW Answer The aircraft is designed for supersonic flight. It has very powerful engines and a delta-shape wing with airfoil designed to create lift above Mach 1 speed. The nose of the a/c pivots down for landing because when retracted there is limited veiw out of the cockpit windows. This is required because the longer nose makes it faster.
