I haven't driven from Dallas, but we have driven two times from Austin. The total drive time is around 20 hours, which we have learned it too long to try in one shot. One time, we left early in the morning and drove to Pensacola, stayed overnight, then drove the rest of the way. The next time, we started after work, drove to the east side of Houston, stayed over night, then drove the rest of the way to Orlando.
