There is no train station linking either Venice San Marco or Venice/Treviso airports to the city of Venice. From Venice San Marco airport you can take a bus (water bus) to the city or you can take a regular bus. The water bus is much quicker but costs around €10. The regular bus is slower but only costs a few euro. From Venice Treviso airport you must take one of the buses waiting outside the airport (about €10) which take you direct to the Venice city bus station.

Transport from the UK to Venice?

You can fly from the UK to Trieste's Ronchi airport, to Treviso airport or to Marco Polo airport (nearest to Venice). From Ronchi, you can take a bus (or taxi) to Trieste and then a train to Venice, Santa Lucia. The Trieste bus and train stations are next door to one another. From Treviso, you can take a direct bus, which leaves quite frequently, to Venice From Marco Polo, you would take a bus (or taxi) to the Mestre train station. Board there to go to the Santa Lucia stop, which is at the foot of the Grand Canal in Venice.

How do you get from Venice to nice?

The best option is to fly. Babbo Airlines and Darwin Airlines both fly directly from Venice Marco Polo Airport to Nice Airport. By train may be cheaper but takes much longer. To travel by train it takes around 7 hours and you have to change trains twice. More information by rail is on Train Europe's website.

How long is the time between Venice train station and Venice airport?

If you come by train from anywhere but Venice island, you'd better get off at Mestre station and take the orange bus 15 (a city line which stops several times along the route: it takes about 30-40 minutes) or the ATVO blue coach (direct, about 20-30 minutes, but more expensive). If you are at the Venice rail station, walk or take a waterbus to Piazzale Roma and take bus 5 (every 15 minutes at rush hours: it takes 20 minutes) or the ATVO coach (about 15 minutes). Useful links: www.actv.it www.atvo.it www.veniceairport.it I would probably allow longer to reach Venice Marco Polo Airport. Be aware that most European cheap flights are to/from Venice Treviso Airport which is in the city of Treviso and you should allow at least an hour for travel between Venice Train Station (or Piazzale Roma buses) to the airport.
