What role did Michael Collins play in the Republican movement?
Michael Collins fought in the GPO in the 1916 Easter Rising and
was in charge of aminution in the GPO and after that he was sent to
sttaford jail to where he was put into soltairly confinement this
made him want to help Ireland more and so on his realese he went
home to Woodfield Co-Vork where he talked to fellow Cork men and
found out that because of the people shot in Kilmainham Gaol Irish
support grew for the IRB and so he moved to Dublin and trained with
thr IRB and was one of the people who began The War Of Indepence
and so he became the trainer of young soldiers whom which he
trained to fight in the War he became the minister for home affairs
in the provisional government. he was then jailed in Galwy for IRB
activity and jumped bail and was on the run till after the war of
Indepence and he wasd the first Irish Man to bring the british
empire to its knees! After this he was one of the men to sign the
treaty. Which began the Civil War. He then Became know as Generalo
Michael Collins "The Man Who Won The War" this is just a few
examples of the roles he played in the republican movement in
IRELAND.
