Trade winds, or commonly known as trades, were winds used mainly by sailors in the 15th century for a more efficient way of sailing to other countries to trade goods and supplies. The trade winds could of been a blessing or a nightmare depending on the direction you were headed. Traveling against the winds would make for a longer sail time while traveling with the winds would make for a faster sail time.
