There used to be no direct flights from Perth to Brisbane. However, this has rcently changed, with a small number of airlines offering direct flights without having to go via other major centres. However, the flight paths do not go directly over Ayers Rock, except for local scenic flights. Ayers Rock is too far to the north of the flight path.
