What happened to the Russian version of Concorde?

The Tupolev TU-144 had only 55 commercial flights, from November 1977 to May 1978. Freight service continued on until 1983. It was used for a time as a test bed for Soviet pilots for the Buran space program, and by NASA.

The Russian supersonic jet was the Tupolev 144. Try as they might, they never could get the thing quieted down inside; you had to wear the same ear protectors in the plane that the ground crew wears to keep from going deaf. After its abortive service as a passenger plane, they consigned it to hauling mail until they finally threw in the towel. The ones they have left are all in museums.
