Yes most definitely. Anything that is spelled that closely to K.O SAMURAI definetly deserves to be independent. And if they arent, then the man has me to answer to. And about your question, I am not sure.
It's about a 12 hour journey. You need to take a boat to Suritani, then drive for 7 hours to Krabi. Then a 2 hour boat ride to Koh Phi Phi.
You have three options. 1. Fly, it's 75$ for a one way flight per person. Only Bangkok Airways does this route non-stop with an ATR72 twice a day. 2. Get a non-stop bus from Samui to Phuket. This bus leaves Nathon Bus Station, takes the ferry and then drives to Phuket. Costs around 400 THB per person without ferry price. 3. Take the ferry to Surat Thani and then a bus to Phuket from there. This route can also go via Donsak, if you take the Samui-Donsak ferry, then you have to get to Surat Thani and take the bus to Phuket.
If you are headed to Koh Samui on a budget, then Maenam Beach is probably the best first stop for you. Koh Samui was once an exclusive holiday resort for backpackers and the more adventurous traveller. With the boom in Thailand tourism, this jewel of an island was quickly discovered and embraced by more mainstream tourism. It is not surprising when you see the long stretches of sand and the crystal clear waters! Ko Samui is now well known throughout the world and is frequently listed as a top destination for a holiday. As a result, a lot of the backpacking staple of beach huts have disappeared. This isn't so at Maenam Beach.More about Maenam Beach click on : http://www.koh-samui-hotels.co.uk/maenam-beach.aspx
