Jet wash is the term for large jet airplanes wingtip vorticies which are cause by the Bernoulli principle. The shape of a wing induces a thin layer of high pressure air under the wing and lower pressure above. The high pressure layer naturally tries to move to the low pressure area and by the wing tip, some of this high pressure area spills over the tip causing a long continuous spiraling airmass. This is known as jet wash and should be avoided at all costs by small planes. Very dangerous
