What should you wear to the airport?

Generally speaking, whatever is easiest for you to get on and off. Normally a dress, shirt, pants (no belt if you can help it), slip on shoes, no jewelry (like a watch, ring, etc.) will do the trick. Anything metal can set off the detectors, but normally small amounts like a ring or watch won't do it...however, if you don't want to chance the hassle, don't wear stuff like that.

Also, you are not required to go through the x-ray machine, but if you choose not to, you should expect a "thorough" pat down.
