Visa Electron is the only form of payment that is free of charge, however you can also pay by normal debit cards or credit cards but they do charge £5.00 per person each way.

If you do not have a visa electron and want to avoid the £5.00 charge per person, what you can do is go into a bureo de change at a Thomas Cook travel agent and purchase a cash passport (in British Pound Sterling).

They do charge but it was only £3 and there is a minimum of £30 to put on at a time, you can top it up as many times as you like though and there is no extra charge each time.

If you don't use your card in around 12 months there is a charge but you could just spend a few pounds on it after 11 1/2 months or so!

  • Remember to take you passport with you!
  • If you don't spend all your money you can use this cash passport at nearly as many places as a typical debit card.

This does work and my family of 4 saved £40.00!

Thanks Jack
