In 1928, the plane that she flew across the Atlantic as a passenger, piloted by Wilmer Stutz, was a Fokker F.VIIB called the "Friendship." When she made her solo flight across the Atlantic on May 20, 1932, landing in Ireland, the plane was a Lockheed Vega that she referred to as the "Little Red Bus," probably due to its comparatively roomy interior.
