For many years the public and designers have admired the logo style used by Singapore Airlines. In Malay, the airline's title is: Syarikat Penerbangan Singapura, where the letter "n" appears as the most prevalent. By market capitalisation, Singapore Airlines is the second largest airline in the world, with a worth of USD$ 14 billion dollars.

During the late 70's, such as when Singapore operated its doomed 'code-share' with British Airways' Concorde, the Singapore "N" was a standard helvetica font.

In 1999, SQ or Singapore announced the launch of their new logos, featuring a custom designed font, commensurate with the clear, clean quality for which the airline is so famous.

Other than aesthetics, the 'small' "n" in the logo makes no other representations or allusions.
