Today I called Lufthansa to cancel my refundable ticket and they informed me that a refund to my credit card would take SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS, which is absolutely ridiculous. I then asked for some sort of proof or confirmation that I had cancelled my itinerary (so that if need be, I can chase down my refund two months from now) and they informed me that it is against their policy to do so. What?!
I then asked if there was any way to log in and check the status of my refund. No. How can I prove to another Lufthansa agent that I did cancel my itinerary and am entitled to a refund? "You have to take my word for it".
