Chances are, ATC will be gone eventually. Nothing lasts forever. NASA is working on a "Highway in the sky" to get rid of most controllers known as EN ROUTE controllers. As for major airports, ATC should still be around to work Control Towers and Approach control as well as Radar Final Controllers as many planes aren't always capable to utilize an ILS. So when the weather goes bad, pilots should still be thanking Air Traffic Controllers... But my guess is 200 years before they are completely wiped out.

However, PATCO was famously decertified after the 1981 strike, which led to significant changes in the air traffic control system.
