A SIMILE is a phrase that describes something in comparison to the characteristics of something else, usually using the words like or as.
Some examples:
He is as sneaky as a weasel.
A book is like a good meal.
Her teeth are like pearls.
A METAPHOR directly compares two things which may be quite different, because one has a characteristic that is similar to the other. It usually uses linking verbs such as is, are, was or were.

simile
A simile is when something is described by comparing it to something else by using the words "as", "like" or "than". For example "float like a feather" or "green as grass". The difference between a simile and a metaphor is that the metaphor says that something is. Simile - Her hair is like gold in the sun. Metaphor - Her hair is gold in the sun.
allusion is indirectly and reader should realize the difference by themselves. in metaphor the writer make the first object and second object kind of the equal thing and will tell the reader what is the point that make them the same thing.
