There is a switch in the door that tells the car's computer system that the door is closed...because most cars leave the interior light on until the door is closed, if the switch is jammed the car will leave the light on all the time. Try spraying the switch with WD-40 or some other lubricant, and then opening and closing the door several times to work the lubricant in. The switch is a small metal button located on the side of the door where the hardware connects to the main body of the car when the door is closed. If that doesn't work you may have a bad switch or other electrical problem.
