They are supposed to, that's how they work. its called Noid pulse and its controll by the ECM
In a nutshell, you are not receiving injector pulse from the computer at the fuel injectors. There are multiple causes for this, most predominantly a bad ignition module in the distributor.
how do you replace the fuel injectors on a 1991 subaru legacy
Shimizu S-Pulse was created in 1991.
The Pulse EP was created in 1991.
You do not as there isn't one. The computer has a built in REV Limiter which cuts back the fuel supply to the injectors when a predetermined speed is reached.

Trouble code 26 in a 1991 Plymouth Acclaim is >>> the Peak Injector circuit voltage has not been reached (need to check computer signals, voltage regulator injectors.) Note: check computer connections! For further ECU codes check out http://www.freeautomechanic.com/diagnostictroblecodes8.html (freeautomechanic.com)
When all fuel injectors are stuck open, this generally means that the injectors are not getting the right voltage. You will need to not only check the voltage, but make sure the injectors are receiving the right signal.
the deville is famouse for computer problems, once the car is started the brain sends a signal to the injectors to puch out an introductory supply of fuel for startup, basically this signals tells the injectors how long to stay open, perhaps the signal is telling the injectors to stay open too long or too much, good luck.
