You need to check the main fuse it should be in the fuse box under the hood and it should be and 80 amp fuse also check the batery conections and make sure they are clean.
This happened with my Blazer, actually it happens frequently. There is a reset button under the dash board, near the floor. You need to hold it and turn the key at the same time. The tow truck guy told me it was some sort of a security feature. I came searching here because it won't stop doing it. Anyone that knows WHY would be very helpful, but hopefully my answer will take care of the immediate problem and get your car started.
