the p0401 code is for low egr pressure you a dealership will twell you you need to replace the egr valve also know as the dpfe sensor all you really need to do is clean out the line a pipe cleaner and a can of brake-parts cleaner will do the trick its simple and only takes about a hour of time
p0401 is lack of egr flow p0171 is bank 1 lean So we have two problems that are commonly related, often accompanied by high idle that will not return to normal. With out high idle problem you may have a pluged EGR or Vacume leak at the EGR system. THe High idle is definately a clue that you have leak in the EGR system.
P0153 02 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 1) P0171 System too Lean (Bank 1 P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected P0401 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected
Trouble code P0401 means:Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected
The codes you mentioned are OBD-II trouble codes that indicate specific issues in a vehicle's engine and emissions system. P0171 and P0174 indicate a lean condition, meaning the engine is receiving too much air or not enough fuel. P0401 signals an issue with the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, specifically insufficient flow. P0420 points to a problem with the catalytic converter's efficiency. Each code suggests a different area of concern that may need diagnostic testing and repair.
I received these error codes for my 1998 Dodge Avenger, 6cyl. 2.5 What does these codes mean? Where would I start to fix these issues? ~THANK YOU ~ P0108 P1297 P0401
P0401 - EGR flow insufficient , P0402 EGR flow excessive
2.0L perhaps? p0351= intergrated ignition coil failure (possible # 1 coil failure or short, start/run circuit issue, bad PCM p0401= EGR (flow problem),valve problem, solenoid problem, possible hoses, maybe even the PCM
simple buy a new car with no alarm like this...problem solve :P
P0401 = Insufficient EGR Flow
Easiest and cheapest(depending on where you live) is to go to a parts store and look in a Haynes manual for your make and model vehicle
Trouble code P0401 means:Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected
Trouble code P0401 means: Exhaust Gas Recirculation Malfunction
