2000 Ford Windstar SEL - What causes the auto sliding door behind the driver not open - its tries to unlock but will not open?
"... it TRIES to unlock..." is the 'key' here...
Since we know a sliding door will not open until it is unlocked, I would investigate the locking mechanism.
