2000 Silverado Serpentine belt squeaks spray belt dressing on it and it stops squeaking only for a few seconds what's wrong?
I had the same problem with my 2000 Silverado. After spraying, it made the squeaks worse. The problem is that belt dressing works only for loose v belts. Not serpentine belts. The reason is the spray has a sticky adhesive that sets up causing the belt to drag on the pullies, compounding the problem. I had to have my belt replaced and the pullies cleaned by a shop.
