transmission leak in reverse only
seal. expensive
The transmission may not shift or engage in forward or reverse until the car warmed up for a few reasons. Two examples of why the transmission will not engage is low or no fluid levels or a leak.
No since there is no need to add transmission fluid unless there is a leak and should take it to a dealer and there is also a fluid life indicator message
old gaskets, replace asap or risk losing your engine or transmission or some other catastrophic repair
O2 sensor or vacuum leak
you fix the leak
Numerous places, If your not counting lines then rear seal, front seal, pan gasket and I can go on...!
That's not telling us much ! - It depends WHERE exactly it leaks from .
Transmission fluid can leak from many places. It could leak from the actual transmission itself, or any of the tubing that goes from the transmission to other parts of the car.
Because you are out of transmission fluid!! Been there, done that. Check your transmission fluid, it's probably very low. Add some and you should be good to go. You should still get your transmission checked out by a mechanic though, because you probably have a leak.
Could be low on transmission fluid. If so you have a heck-of-an oil leak.
