yes it is easyer to chang that way than the other way just go to junk yard and get trans and stering colum from the same vech. if possible that way the linkage will work no problem also get the drive shaft and any control modules you might need

According to my door sticker my '98 V6 F-150 Flareside (stepside, manual tranny,) weighs 3800lbs. If you have a V8, Auto trans, king Cab and a longbed styleside then add about 1200 to 1700 lbs.

It would a clutch safety switch if manual transmission - usually located at the upper end of the clutch pedal under dash area
As I have a trans in my 92 F150, which has that code on it. I believe my factory service manual identified the trans as a MR2 (or R2) mazada 5 speed that was used by Ford.
