its your blend door failed or your blend door actuator failed. 1 of the 2 or both. cant find any info on tearing out dash in 03 mountaineer and it appears to me that my research says its in a different spot than other years.
Mercury Mountaineers have a "blend" door in the heater box. It is probably malfunctioning. You can find more info by searching for Ford + "blend door" or "no Heat"
It is your blend door actuator. Good luck! It is a cheap part but an expensive time consuming fix.
you would have to see a mechanic about that problem
You are likely in an antarctic region.
Its the blend door. It happened on my 98 Mercury Mountaineer. The motor shaft and the door have separated there is an easy fix look up blend door fix for 98 Mercury Mountaineer it just needs a small finishing nail and done
Probably because coolant level is low
BCI group 65 ( such as Motorcraft BXT-65-650 ) 650 cold cranking amp (CCA)
According to the 2003 Mercury Mountaineer Owner Guide : Both the 4.0 liter SOHC , V6 and the 4.6 liter V8 engines have the Motorcraft BXT-65-650 battery ( that's BCI group size 65 , 650 cold cranking amps )
On a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer : It came from the factory with either the Motorcraft BXT-65-650 battery ( or the optional Motorcraft BXT-65-850 battery ) ( that's BCI group size 65 , 650 or 850 cold cranking amps )
You don't mention what model year of Mercury Mountaineer so I was looking at various model years The Owner Guides show that the Motorcraft BXT-65-650 battery was used most ( that's BCI group size 65 , 650 cold cranking amps ) * some model years have an 850 cold cranking amp battery shown as the optional battery
can you please clarify what you mean, do you mean that the front heater blows cold but the rear blows hot or do you mean that when the heating is on cold it blows hot? many thanks paul
