Most likely it's the relay. It's a pain to get to, which is why most people rig up a button for the horn. the relay only costs about $10 or less, and is a simple plug-in. Usually located near/on the firewall to the left of the steering column under the dash. Either that or the contacts are worn inside the button on the steering wheel

Does your horn actually work?? OR you might have dis-engaged the horn from working from your remote.....see your manual on how to engage it!
I FOUND THE HORN ON A 2007 SILVERADO CREW CAB INFRONT OF THE FRONT TIRE. YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE PLASTIC WHEEL WELL COVERING. INFACT THIS TRUCK HAS TWO(2) HORNS, ONE ON EACH SIDE. SO I AM GUESSING THE EXTENDED CAB IS THE SAME.

Have you checked the steering wheel?
If the Montero's horn sounds continuously when doors are locked with the remote, this is due a horn pad failure. To repair, replace the horn pad assembly.
