how can i repair a wirie taht has been broken from alternator to wiring harness on 1990 volvo 240?
I found one at my local GM dealership. They want alot for it. I just wanted the connectors to replace broken ones. Don't hold me to it but, I believe they wanted somewhere around $60 for the harness.
When performing a harness inspection, you should look for signs of wear and tear, such as frayed webbing, broken stitches, or damaged buckles. Check for any signs of chemical exposure or burns that could compromise the harness's integrity. Ensure all connectors and D-rings function properly and are free of rust or corrosion. Lastly, verify that the harness fits properly and all adjustments are secure.
Radiator Fan Doesn't Operate After Alternator ReplacementI suspect that the wiring harness to the Radiator Fan got disturbed inadvertently during the Alternator replacement. This could include a connector plug being pulled loose, a wire cut or broken or "pinched" and thus in contact [grounded] with/to a component of the engine which is grounded.
yes
Alternator defective, or alternator belt broken or slipping.
replace the harness

if it doesn't spin at all, yes it is broken if it doesn't spin at all, yes it is broken
Repair the broken connections.
The light is on because the alternator is not putting out the required voltage. Either the belt is broken, loose, or the alternator is defective.
