the problem is in the wiring on the drivers side, under the trim where the carpet meets the door. Remove the trim and you will find the wiring harness that comes from the back to the front of the car. Remove all of the tape and unravel the harness. There is a major grounding connector plug with around 6-8 wires. first try unravelling the wiring, sometimes that's all it takes. Otherwise, clean up the connection and try that. I just fixed my 1996 lesabre the same way and haven't had a problem since. good lick.
