If the rear seat belts in your 1998 Lincoln Continental are not retracting, it may be due to a jam or obstruction in the retractor mechanism. Check for any debris or tangled webbing that could be preventing the belt from retracting properly. If the issue persists, the retractor could be faulty and may need to be replaced. It’s advisable to consult a professional for a thorough inspection and repair.

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus and the driver side seat beat would not retract. I loosen up the trim that covers the seat belt thing and then the seat belt retracted on it;s own. I also adjusted the height of the shoulder harness. so am not sure which one actually fixed it. I am just glad it works because i have to get an inspection sticker and the seat belts have to be working . I live in mass.
