I have a 94 Trans sport & it does the same thing, however a/c will come thru the panel vents after a few minutes.... don't know why the delay tho..
To answer your question, I have the exact same type of mini van. There is a fuse box under ur dash on the passenger side. pull & check the number 15 htr/ac. if that is good you have a under panel under that it should be black unscrew the screws and check each one of those. that is ur problem.
Try looking for a broken or disconnected vacuum hose. They start behind the carburetor and wraparound the front and are routed on the passenger side of the car into the firewall. If the vacuum hose is disconnected or broken your air goes automatically into standard mode where it blows out the floor and defrost vents.
Ok..I figured it out. Turns out the rear defroster is the problem. When I unplugged it from the back windshield, blower/heater works great!! So...to all those out there..if your blower motor blows fuses...check the blower motor first...then the HVAC and heater fuses, then rear defroster if you have a cavalier!
it's a problem with the blower motor resistor
Replace the blower motor also.
It will be located somewhere in the path of the air that the blower motor blows.
Could be,Blown fuse,Bad blower motor,Bad blower motor switch,Bad blower motor speed resistor,
Inside dashboard in path of air that blower motor blows.
Bearing in blower motor?
Blower motor is shot or a burnt fuse.
Somewhere in the path of the air that the rear blower motor blows
it is the moter that spins the fan that blows your heat or ac out of your vents
blower motor resistor
Could ba a blown fuse for blower motor Could be a bad switch for blower motor
