Look in between the hazard light switch and the rear window defrost switch. there should be a cover you can pry up with a flat head screwdriver. remove that and the screw that is underneath it. Then remove the bezel that covers the radio and a.c controls. There will be wires attached to the hazrd light switch and the defrost switch. remove the connectors that connect them. then there are four screws holding in the radio just remove those and slide the whole thing out.
To repair the rear defrost in a 1999 Continental, first check the fuse related to the rear defrost system; if it's blown, replace it. Next, inspect the defrost switch for functionality and ensure the wiring and connectors are intact and free from corrosion. If the defrost grid on the rear window is damaged, you may need a rear defroster repair kit to fix any broken lines. If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider consulting a professional mechanic for further diagnosis.
