Your heater core(s) are probably leaking, although a hose in the same area may have broken.
The Aerostar has one heater core on the passenger side, which is needed for proper defroster functionality, and an optional heater core behind the driver's seat, which helps to keep the rear passengers warm. The rear heater core can be bypassed, under the hood, but the defroster will cause ice to form inside the van if the front heater core is bypassed.
A special 'quick connect' tool is needed, to remove-and-replace the hoses, which can be borrowed from most auto parts stores. Be careful to not lose the washer when you disconnect the connector, or it will leak when you put it back together. Also, these connectors can be frustrating to use until you have practiced on them a few times.
It is helpful to have a friend available to guide the connectors when you put the new core under the dash.
